Anyone know what max points is?
Max points are 13 going into the draw.
It is 13…that's what I've got!
Grand Slam #1005 + 2: Dall (1986 Yukon), Fannin/Stone (1987 Yukon), Bighorn (1988 Colorado Unit S-26), Stone (1995 British Columbia), Desert (2001 Nevada Unit 161), Bighorn (2009 Wyoming Unit 5)
Holy Smokes, I'm gonna have to be awful lucky to ever draw this tag before I go broke! Same thing WY did to sheep and moose points once I was invested. Oh well I guess I might as well quit whining. I'm still in! What the heck.
Wow Ump, that's awesome! I can't wait to see that one when you draw it.
I'm having a very hard time convincing myself to keep applying there. I feel like instead of applying in MT, I could spend the same amount of money on some raffle tags and probably have close to or even better draw odds. Using MT's draw odds data, in 2012, about 6,900 non residents applied for 11 ram tags for some fantastic drawing odds of 0.16%, about 1 in 625. And they're actually much worse than that when accounting for bonus points. Guys like Umpqua with his 169 points versus my 9 probably puts my odds around 1 in 5,000 or even worse for some of the units. Of course it depends on which unit a guy applied in so unless a guy has a lot of points, I just don't see how it is worth it.
Moose and mountain goat aren't quite as bad but still are pretty ridiculous.

I figure if I apply for 35 years I have a chance? I'm 24 and figure I will draw one of the three by then so I will stay in. Gotta pay to play right? They are definitely making it harder for the NR though.
That is why Montana needs to go to a seperate NR draw with a guaranteed 10% of the tags. They want our money, but they don't want to give us the opportunity to draw.
