I probably take the sport a little more serious than the average hunter. I got 5 bikes. all for different purposes.
As far as price of bikes. you get what you pay for. And the more you ride, the more you get the prices.

As far as hunting off of bikes. heck yea. works awesome.

Just took a few mile ride that took about 25 minutes. Good to get some rubber on the ground.

I haven't rode any trails. The area I live has some good hills in the neighborhood and a dirt pit. So I will slowly go long distance and time. Need to start hitting the cardio now that summer and season are closing in quick.

It is. I kind of make it like a track though lol. Makes it fun. Since I like supercross, gotta feel like your racing sometimes lol. When my bro can ride a bike, I am going to make him do some rides with me. Good way to get strength back from breaking his leg.

that is a bob trailer. Used to be made in boise. I have had it for awhile now, over 10 years. I do believe they are still around. but under a new company. I go by Tim Koerner on strava. I will look you up.

some of the low lying trails have melted out, but most stuff is still under snow and blowdows.

For the most part I consider my self a backcountry rider. Love the day rides in the middle of nowhere. I discovered hunting off of mountain bikes in the early 90's when I was living in Alaska. Basically shot a lot of "grouse" with .22's off of my bike.

I had a forkhorn bull elk down in 2002 and I remembered the little trailer I had bought for my wife, that goes behind bikes. I went home and got the trailer peddled back to the bull, and started back down to the truck with my load of meat. I have since adapted my style of hunting to evolve around the bike and trailer. I now pack camps in a couple of miles on gated forest service roads and hunt from there. Basically backpack style but with the bike. I have packed water and other adult beverages into my camp ahead of time and cached them. Basically I would set my self up for 4-5 day hunts. very effective. The camp and locations have evolved over the years, but that is part of the fun.

I like my bike but don't use it enough. As for riding trails... I worked with an Orthopedic Doc who drew a Wyoming Area 5 Sheep Tag a few years back and he crashed on his bike about two weeks before his hunting while on a training ride. Needless to say he wasn't hunting those sheep when the season opened and him laid up with two broken arms and a few cracked ribs. Use the old noggin' when riding trails.
