I would love to hear what NDOW has to say about this specific article written by such a credible source. This needs to be read by every NV hunter and pressure needs to be brought on NDOW. 014 is and always has been my first pick when putting in for deer and I have spent many seasons hunting the granites, it is amazing the change this has made and I am thankful for it. Have you read part 2 feather? If so can you give a quick rundown? I don't subscribe to Muley Crazy but I may now that they published this article.
Yeah I read it. Heck in Ryan hatches little paragraphs at the beginning I think he even called them.

I gave part of it in the OP. The guy goes on how ndow is scared of the success because they will have to spend more money because of it. Kind of bashes them on a lot of things. If you ever see this months issue, look at it. Muleycrazy won't have the online up for several more months.

So what do they do with the $3 predator fee they charge with my license every year? Seems like that would be able to fund projects like this.

That's a great point, the article touches on it when it talks about the studies of lion and coyote diets and habitat. I just found this letter that spells out the waste and hippy bullcrap that NDOW is using this money for. It is a good letter that was written last fall by the NV Forearms Coalition http://www.nvfac.org/Portals/0/docum...ment%20fee.pdf

its unbelievable the things people these days want to study to death. More proof out wildlife is being managed by idiots.... Who really needs to study what cats and dogs eat. If they really want to study that the most cost effective way would be to kill them and cut them open to see whats in their stomach! I actually thought that $3 went to killing predators before this.... Im not understanding why in that letter they are so concerned with predator control only benefiting deer. Dont most areas have more species then just deer? I dont see how reducing predators in any area would only help deer.

I'm with you MM. I'm personally effected by this absurd "sage grouse study". NDOW and Harry Reidiculous are planning a huge land closure in areas I love hunting. Turns out I've been funding it, they claim the sage grouse on the westside of NV are a pure rare strain, they've paid millions to ranchers to abandoned ranch property for breeding grounds. I'm very unimpressed with NDOW and feel a little foolish, I've attended several meetings fighting the closure when I've been paying them. This needs to be heard by all sportsmen, see how NDOW handles it.

I would assume the biggest thing affecting the sage grouse (assuming they are actually having problems and they arent just a tool to take our public lands away, which I wouldnt doubt a bit) is coyotes. So spending that money to thin out the coyotes would help everything.
