Vortex Razor HD vs. Euro Binocs

Hi everyone kind of new here, I have been looking at getting a new set of binoculars for a few weeks. I kind of have it narrowed down to Swarovski slc neu f(if I can find some), vortex razor hd, or possibly leica ultravid. I have been looking pretty hard for a pair of slc neu's but have recently started looking at the razors a little bit. I own a razor spotting scope and have been pretty happy with it, used it quite a bit in MT and ND last year. I guess I'm just wondering how the razor's compare to the non hd swaro's, do the swaro's definitely perform better?

    Thanks

If you have the budget for the Razor HDs, I strongly recommend you look into the Meopta Meostar HD. IMO, It will provide you with what you are looking for in performance.

This binocular is also available in slightly different armor as the Cabelas Euro HD.

    Great glass.

thanks for the reply bitterroot bulls, I think one of your threads is the reason I went with the razor spotter, I guess the budget is there for even the new swaro stuff, its just is the extra 800-1500 to get the newest swaro optics worth the performance increase from the neu's or the razor? I feel like the difference could be spent on other hunting equipment. My hunting does totally depend on my optics I mainly hunt the wide open prairie of ND, with some MT and Wyo trips mixed in yearly.

I have some swaro slc 10 X 42 non HD. I have had them about 10 years and I couldn't be happier with them. The image is super sharp and clear, even in low light. If you keep looking on ebay you could probably find some in great condition for around $1000 to $1200.

    Good Luck

I have a 10x42 razor hds and the 65mm razor hd spotter i hunt mostly wyoming, montana, and north dakota they have always been great for me I'm a big vortex guy i did buy a swarvo z3 rifle scope and have nothing bad to say about that and i also have the leica CRF1000 rangefinder which is dang nice. I love my vortex glass only thing with them is for re-sale id say you would have better luck going with the so called Big 3 leica, swarvo, or zeiss.

If you have the money for it and are in need of a new rangefinder also I'd maybe bite the bullet and look at the geovids or swarvos hd binos. I have a couple buddies one has the zeiss rangfinding binos and another has the geovids the zeiss while cheaper are to bulky thick for my liking, the geovids were amazing but pricey lol. good luck.

Is the extra expense worth it for the newest Swaro lines? Nobody but you can answer that for you, my friend. It sounds to me like you have other things to work into your budget. The Meopta's I recommended provide astounding performance for $1000.

I have posted this before. Sorry for not just coming out to answer your question specifically...I think what I have learned as a whole is better then just a short answer.
