    Woodleigh bullets

I tested some 180 grain Woodleigh bullets in my 338-06 today, they shot very well. Anybody have experience with them on critters?

I also shot my Savage model 16 in 7mm-08. I bought it to replace my ultra-picky Kimber in the same caliber. The Savage shot as I had hoped... .65" 3 shots at 100 with factory 150gr. Hard to argue with that! I'm anxious to play with some loads for it.

I have never heard of them. I googled them and went to their home page. Looks like they really specialize in solids and heavy jackets for "dangerous" game. If they shoot well for you, them I wouldn't hesitate a second using them. Bet they would be great for bear & moose.

Woodleigh makes great bullets, as do many other manufacturers. As CC stated, they are more famous for their heavy caliber bullets. Norma loads them in a number of the exotic calibers, or they did before they became the "New Norma". I have shot the Norma 250 gr. Woodleigh loads in my .358 Norma Magnum, and even killed an elk with them, but I did see that they were more effective than the 250 grain Nosler Partitions, or Speer Grand Slams. Just considerably more expensive.
