    Photo contest

    Hey all

We are running a Photo contest!

Here's how it will work. Post two photos of your best landscape/scenic and two of your best trophy. This is not about trophy size, it's about photo quality. Give alittle info on your camera gear set up.

Guy will do the judging at the end of the contest and will pick the top three in both categories, Landscape/scenic and trophy.

Guy will also make some comments on the other posts to give insight on how some changes could have been made to create better photos to help out for the upcoming hunting season photos.

The top three winners will receive limited addition Forum Gear and One year subscription to EHJ!

Contest will run for 30 days

    Post your photos here

    Good Luck! Let's see'm!

Even though I don't consider myself much of a photographer, I'll get the ball rolling on this.

First picture is of Beartooth Lake & Beartooth Butte.

Second picture is of The Pinnacles on Togwotee Pass.

Pics were shot with a Panasonic Lumix ZS5

The most remarkable thing was that was the only morning in 3 months of working next to the lake every day that there was no wind.

Hawks Rest 34+miles into the wilderness..Thorofare river Drainage to the left; Headwaters of the Yellowstone to the right.

I don't get many pictures with my own trophies anymore, but here is a late season bull of mine from a couple years back.

That's an awesome area in there, and the fishing isn't bad either Do they still man that ranger station in there year-round?

In the summer there is a Forest service person who lives in the cabin at the base of Hawks. The patrol cabin isn't "manned" year round but definitely during hunting season there is usually someone in there pretty consistent. The Volunteer at the forest service cabin and his wife are great people who i enjoy visiting with every time i take a pack trip into that country. He has 70+years worth of stories which always makes for great times for my guests. Ill be back in there this summer with some fishing pack trips, and looking forward to it for sure.

I don't take many scenic shots, these are the best I could do from a C-206 at 130mph. Some really nice rams hang out on the mountains to the left of the river valley.

I hope to add some successful brown bear photos in a couple of weeks.

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX1, which has been a fine little camera. Hopefully the new "Big" camera, a Canon 70d will help me improve.
