What gun is it in? Im pretty interested in the 308 Norma.

The other one's got a rattlesnake With a simple statement made "Don't tread on me" is what it says and I'll take that to my grave. Because this is me. I'm proud to be American and strong in my beliefs. And I've said it before but I'll say it again 'Cause my family's always fought and died to save this land. And a country boy is all I'll ever be."

Please post the positive and negative of this round. Seems there is a lot of positive talk on it but the bullet just seems small. He has been a die hard 300 win mag fan forever so in comparison it seems it would just not have knock down the 300 has.

    Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks
The bullet is not really that small. A lot of guys go to the woods with their 140 Corelokts and 270 Winchesters. I'm running a 140 Berger out of my 6.5x284 at 3015 fps. That kicks the pants off anyone's 270 and the 130 JLK would perform even better. The 6.5x284 is a very accurate, flat shooting, light recoiling but yet hard hitting round. You can get Lapua brass for it too which is a huge plus. There really aren't any negatives to it. This is also coming from a die hard 300 Winnie fan. Here's what the little 6.5 can do to elk: http://youtu.be/w0Fp2h6KmwI

I have two custom 260 AI's and they run close to that of a 6.5x284 in velocity and I've killed several animals out to 600 with them and one of those was a cow Elk. I run 130gr Accubonds out of them. I'd never question a 400 yd shot on anything from Elk and under with both of those rifles. Look at the Sweden they've killed millions of moose with the 6.5 Swede which is not even comparable to the 6.5x284.

The only disadvantage to the 6.5x284 is accurate barrel life. The long range competitors are getting between 900-1200 rounds before their accuracy level is exceeded. This may not even be a factor for a hunting rifle depending on how much practice one does.

I shoot a 264 win mag loaded with 140gr Accubonds at 3000fps, or more recently 140gr Berger VLD's loaded to 2950fps. It is capable of more speed but it's real accurate there and my barrel should last longer. I've been impressed with the performance on every animal I've taken with either bullet (deer and antelope) even on hard quartering shots. I would be very confident using it on elk also, just not at the same angles. Read some of the comments in my hunting pics album for more information on the terminal performance if you want.

Whatever he does, please do not let him shoot 125 Partitions in it.

Also, Gunwerks is located in Burlington.
