    Resources to value gun collection

After a conversation I had with MM about a 308 Norma I have it got me thinking. I have a Weatherby collection of Mark 5's I would like to get their value. I was given these rifles by my uncle that passed away in 06 so I was never really able to get much info on the collection along with the custom Norma.

What can I use to look up serial numbers to value and get some factory info on each gun.

    Thanks

Blue Book of Gun Values by S.P. Fjestad is a great resource for general info and values. You can also lookup year of mfg on many guns in it. At 2080 pages its bound to have something useful in it!

If you're going to insure them, contact your insurance company, and ask who they recommend to appraise them. That's what I did.
I needed to insure my guns separately, not covered under my Homeowner's policy. Good luck.

Speaking of insurance, remember if you are an NRA member, they have a limited amount of insurance that is free to all members.

I looked up my old 1970's Weatherby serial number on their web-site for a recall on the bolt. Their customer service was pretty helpful, too IMHO. That might get a starting point for each gun. You probably already got that far.

Thanks Cowboy, I'm a life member but I forgot all about that. I'll get on the NRA website & see what I can find out.

You can always search gun broker and see what comparable guns are selling for.
