    Thanks NM,

There must be a lot of bears for 2 people to mention it. It looks like the main roads get hit really hard with ATV riders, this unit seems to have a lot of hunters for the amount of high country it has. Has anyone hunted out in the desert around the area?

    Thanks,

    Dark

Took me a bit to remember were 14A is. I have ML hunted it a few times. We used to hunt up pretty high. Some years there were quite a few deer, others not so many. Missed a nice buck 1 year. I havent gone for a few years but reports from friends that have havent been very good recently. It is great country and I do hope to hunt it again someday, its just at kind of a bad time of year for me since I moved to WA.

I'll second MM's post about the deer being up high, but I've noticed once they strip the velvet the 1st week or so of September they seem to fall off the peaks down into the Aspen/Conifer patch's. I'd hunt the start of the season if I was you!

An old guy I used to hunt there with said he saw 54 bucks on opening morning once in the 60's in that area. Said there were so many he didnt even know what one to shoot. Must have been a nice problem to have!

I used to work with a guy that'd spend the whole archery and muzzy hunt down there
