    Vortex Spotter Qs

Looking into new spotting scope. Have a close friend with Leupold Goldring 12x40x60 and have always been dissapointed at the upper power levels. It blurs to the point that it is almost unsuable and has even been sent in for warranty work. I'm definitely interested in the Vortex. How much of a difference is there between the Viper and Razor? Does clarity become a problem at the upper power levels?

Bitteroot Bulls should chime in here and explain it all up . I have learned that optics will make a hunt. I also have a gold ring spotter . I have never had any issues with. But for the money and warranty I do like the vortex stuff.

I have the Razor HD 65 mm spotter. I bought it last year right when they came out and have been very pleased with it.
The image clarity and resolution is good when conditions are good, even at higher magnifications. I live in Louisiana and I can rarely use the highest power setting due to mirage due to air density and humidity, but when I am hunting in WY where the air is less dense and humid, the image is very sharp and clear at all magnification settings.
I don't think I have read a single negative review of the Razor HD 65 mm spotter, it is a very good spotter.
BitterRoot Bulls is the optics guru and he can surely give you some very good info.

    Good Luck

I also have the Raxor in 65mm. It is a great scope. You won't be dissatisfied with its performance. And a PM to Hardstalk and discuss it with him. He is the forum Vortex dealer.

I've done a few side by sides with leupold and the viper line. IMO they were very similar optics. The viper was a few bucks less but I did not notice enough difference to bash one or the other. The razor line bumps ya up another lever for sure. I have never done side by sides with the razor line and goldring. But have done one or two with the viper next to a razor. The price reflects the difference. Both are enjoyable to use, but the razor has an obvious edge over the viper hd.

I have a Swaro ATS 65HD and my buddy has a Razor 65 and honestly the difference in the two is negligable. Pretty sad considering I could own two Vortex's compared to one Swaro.

I have the razor 11-33X50 compact spotter, purchased it last year in march and didn't check it out until September mule deer hunting noticed some kind of defect in the class when ya zoomed out. I used it all season and ended up sending it back 2 weeks ago. They had it repaired and back at door within 10 days no charge. And there is no longer a problem. Now I'm planning on getting one of the full size models.

I really like the vortex product, it's deffinitnitley the best bang for ur BUCK, the newer swaro HD glass in 12 power is pretty incomparable to most, but u know there's a lot of quality optics these days, iv look thru a lot , vortex is deffinitley in the race
