I'm looking to get a new rifle in 270 WSM, I've been hearing good things about the Savage Weather Warrior models. Anyone own one? Likes, dislikes? Any info on their performance would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I have one in 300WSM and love it. For a large caliber, I was surprised with how accurate it was, but then again, it's a Savage and they make some very accurate guns. It's great mountain gun because it's synthetic, lightweight and pretty flat shooting. Guy and Ike both have them as well, but not sure what calibers...I think 300WSM.

I have a lefty model in .300WSM and really like it. I used it to take my mountain goat and a 180 mulie this fall and it really performs well.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I think you sold me on the Weather Warrior.
I have it in 7mm REM mag. It took a beating on my Idaho sheep hunt in 2009, and held up great. I have nothing but good things to say about it.
I've got the Model 116 FCSS in 300 Win. Mag. and am extremely impressed with it. As previously stated.. it's light, it can take a beating and the thing literally drives tacks. Not to mention, very affordable. I'm glad I picked one up because it holds its own with mine and my dad's custom rigs. It will have a place in my safe forever. I definitely suggest buying one, or two.

My 270WSM is a browning A-bolt with an bell & carlson synthetic stock and 2lb trigger spring kit. I think you will like the savage because it has a tang safety like the browning. I love this safety for a mountain rifle because they won't snag on your pack and let your action come open. I also am a big fan of the 270WSM and have had great luck with accuracy and terminal performance from the 140gr accubond. Good luck with your new rifle.
This rifle in 300WSM would be my next rifle, if I ever get to move back West,![]()
My heart belongs to the land my people, the Northern Cheyenne have fought and died for.
Here is the first group my rifle ever shot with the first load tried in it. Best $600 I've ever spent.

I have a 116 in 270, its my point and shoot gun. When im hunting I cant be concerned about taking it easy on my gear so it has to be able to take a beating, and it has and still performs great.
