Just have to add that if folks come over to the coast and are playing around in the ocean please be careful.
Every year we lose a few folks because dogs or kids get sucked out by a rip current.
Just the other day a young girl in WA, drowned and her brother came within a couple of minutes of drowning as well.
They were playing in waist deep water and got pulled out.
Strangely the dogs usually make it but the folks trying to rescue them don't.

The other "all-to-frequent" scenario is when folks climb on rocks during low tide and don't pay attention to the incoming tide.

Thanks Timber, we all have our phobias. I'll do 20 foot waves but a 12 foot ladder scares the crap out of me

I didn't have to worry to bad as the kids would get to their ankles and come running back saying that water is damn cold!

You can always tell when Oregonians are around in other states. They are the ones out swimming when everyone else has sense enough not to…. ha ha.

Better to stay under the radar so nobody will want to move here. I am such a "people person".
