I'd look at the units that are NOT difficult public access and see if anything shows up as being a decent area.

My guess is that almost everything left is considered difficult access, wilderness, or has lame success rates.
This exercise (and it will take some time) may not help you this year but it will help you figure out what units to shoot for in the future.
It will also spare you some flack right now.

Best bet might be to pay a trespass fee and purchase a land owner tag if you can get one.
There are no landowner tags in Wyoming that a non resident can buy. They are for qualifying landowners use only.

The only real way to be "spared" of the flack you get from one poster on this form (and many others he trolls) is to add him to your ignore list.

Sorry, but you can't show up the day before leftover tags go on sale and ask where the best units are. You have to do some research first and ask your questions differently. People here give out a lot of help, but you have to do some homework first.

    Good luck to you!

asking a day before the season is kind of silly. I am already looking into and planning hunts for the fall of 2015! that being said.........my group had to scramble after all of our plans for this year fell apart. so we bought leftover antelope tags for eastern WYO right away today. I know hunter numbers are high in the area, and bucks are not the biggest..........but it sure beats missing a year fo hunting out west!

    Good Luck everyone!

Good information, except for your last sentence! Wyoming does not allow landowner tags to be transferred to anyone else like some states do.

I have long term plans that are 5 years in advance....but I gotta give you props for planning 2025 already! I have a spreadsheet with a basic outline for hunts for several years in advance. But I have not hardcore looked into exactly what in where yet. I know what we are doing next year, it is the where part. We are doing an archery elk hunt, OTC, but I have to really decide between 3 areas in 2 different states. and then we might do a mule deer hunt as well. It might be a 2-fer western hunt! My wife might divorce me going out in September and then again in either oct or nov...........but oh well. she will get over it!

I'm planning on cracking open beer later. I'm off Friday through Sunday. So tonight starts my weekend
