    What's my truck worth?

Anyone have an opinion on what my 1988 toyota 4x4 is worth? It's not listed in KBB because it's too old. My mom bought this truck new in 88. Been in the family ever since. A/C hasn't worked in years. Odometer stopped working on it years ago as well so I don't know the true mileage. At least 200k. Engine has been rebuilt at least once. Tranny not sure. Has some dents and rust. Interior not in great shape. It is an auto tranny, V6 engine. I'm trying to decide on its future.

If it was a 4 holer and 4 speed, I'd buy it. Don't really like the V6 and auto tranny.

I was thinking the same. But hoping more. For only $1500 I'm not in a rush to sell it, but then again I don't know if I wanna put much $ into fixin to keep. It's rarely used these days. I was hoping my son would some day have it but he's got 9 more years before he turns 16.

Start now and restore it for him. That's a cool ride. And it will be 35 years old. To me....that would be cool as heck!!!

A little bit at a time and it won't seem as expensive to fix it up.

I drive a 1990 Mazda B2600I 4x4 with 290000 miles on it It is a four cylinder manual. I had the motor pulled and had a new seal and gasket kit installed a few years ago. I have been offered $2000 for it a few times. It is worth more to me as a hunting vehicle than selling it. I use it as a daily driver / local hunting truck. I bought it new in 1990.

Same here! My 16 year old daughter is wanting a Toyota 4X4 bad, but it HAS to be a 5 speed. She don't want a stinkin' automatic.

I would just keep it if it were mine, cool little truck. If your boy is nine he should be driving it already? I started as soon as I could reach the pedals

Search craigslist adds nationally and you will get a good feel for the going price. To me the region you are in really impacts vehicle prices. Other factors are tires, stereo, how it sounds and runs...etc. I have seen these go for 3-4k on the front range in Colorado and into southern Wyoming. Place the same vehicle in a flat land city setting and it won't bring much over 1k. If you want to sell it, list it in the Denver and Wyoming Craigslist ads.
