    Heart Condition.

Heading into the back country for the first time, I have a CHD Ebsteins Anomaly, and have to take meds? Any suggestions anything I should look out for and do.

What elevation do you live at? With Ebstein's your right heart just doesn't work very well, so you're not getting good blood flow to your lungs, which equates to possibly poorly oxygenated blood to your left heart and out to your body.
In addition, Ebstein's patients have a huge right atrium; with any heart chamber significantly enlarged there is always the possibility of a transient arrhythmia. A right heart chamber arrhythmia is normally not fatal (I don't think so anyway) but can further degrade what limited right heart function you have.
With CHD I would assume you have a cardiologist?--I would certainly recommend you consult with your cardiologist before undertaking any strenuous activity, especially if you are coming from a low elevation area.
I am a cardiac sonographer out here in western CO; I have only seen a couple Ebstein's patients in my entire career.

I live in PA not any type of high elevation. Never had any problem with poor blood to lung. They fixed it when I was 5 Im now 31 never really done anything since my surgery when they repaired a hole in the tricuspid and took care of the WPW. I take atenolol and sprironolactone, I see him every two years. I asked the only thing they really limited me on is roller coasters. My oxegyn level is normal 99 % heart rate is in the 60s-70s blood pressure is like 115/75. About the only thing really flares up is Raynaud's phenomenon when my hands get blue along with my feet and get cold.

OK, so you've got repaired Ebstein's...at minimum I would still ask the cardiologist for any advice regarding coming from PA to altitude, and I would also consider asking if an exercise treadmill test might be appropriate. It's best to try and be as well prepared as you can before you come out here...I've seen way too many people come out here, not take appropriate precautions in regards to their health (or lack of health), and end up in trouble.
BTW, I'm from PA myself, escaped and came out to CO 20 years ago.

I dont have anyone to go with just me myself and I. All cool, I been going to Hershey medical center since day i was born. I do a treadmill, bike, table test every two years a eco every year. The thing that worries me the most is my hands and my feet, boots really get to my feet and like now my room is 74 and my feet and hands are blue and hurt. Last Pa deer season i made it out in time before frost bite set in, ER said you should not let it get that bad but at certain point my feet and hands go numb like and there cold and i don't realize it. I wear a garmin fenix watch to watch my heart rate

I run the entire Union fish hook line threw the National cemetery every morning its about 6.5 miles. Every other evening i have a military surplus frame pack that i have loaded to 55lbs and hike up Big round and back down which is around 3 miles.

Dont know much about what you have but I would give yourself a bit of time to get used to the altitude. Sound like your in good shape with how your working out.

Check out the Inreach for a communicator I picked up one two weeks ago and it works great.
