Wouldn't be the first time. Do you remember Kirt Darner from the 80's? He was all over the outdoor magazines and in the hunting catalogs unil it was found out that most if not all his monster trophy animals were poached or even stolen. Even back then I thought it was strange that all the pictures of him were with mounted animals out in the field.
I'm sure there are more of these tv personalities that are shady.

They're pretty quick to defend themselves at the bottom of the article......No surprise there. But in my experience, where there's smoke, there's fire. Hopefully the DNR has all the evidence and justice will run it's correct course.

I sure do remember Kirt Darner, the self proclaimed trophy mule expert. I also remember him standing in front of an old barn/shed that was covered with huge mule deer. He made himself a fortune all the while being a poacher and wildlife thief. It figures.
Stuff like that happen when big money, greed and ego come into play. IMO

No idea where he was from, but he's probably the biggest name out there that has ever been taken down for all the violations he committed and got away with for years!

As far as the comments at the bottom of the OP link, I see they have stated they are innocent of hunting where they shouldn't have been, but they made no comments about not having the proper stamps, etc. Being retired from a LE type of job that I had for over 30 years, I'll reserve any other comments until after adjudication of the cases and see what the final official rulings in court are.

I wouldn't expect them to say otherwise. Have you heard may criminals say they were guilty!

These clowns can't seem to stay out of the forest preserves in the Chicago area. Its happened before and will happen again.

These guys were caught poaching in a forest preserve as well a couple years back.
