2006 Show Season
Mar 31 2006Home again at last…It is always good to be home and sleep in your own bed, particularly after such a busy show season. I have had my fill of airports, hotel rooms, and show food for another year. I, like so many of you are much more at home in the backcountry than in a busy international airport such as Atlanta or Denver. But don’t get me wrong it was well worth the travel to again meet so many great people and jaw a little with so many fellow hunters from all over the country. We all share a bond, a part of our lives that defines who we are, through a shared passion for the outdoors. We live and thrive on the thrills and challenges of the hunt. And that alone can sometimes make a show in even the largest city seem a little like home to me.
This was my first year lecturing and I definitely want to thank all of you who took the time out of your schedules to attend one of my seminars. It was nice to see so many familiar faces in the audience and I had a ton of fun up there talking and sharing some of the great footage that we were able to catch with our cameras this past fall.
I would definitely have to say that the number one question from the show tour was, when will Cameron’s and David’s books be ready? To answer that, we are working very hard on the Cameron’s book as we speak. It will be delivered to the printer on Tuesday, April 4th and should be ready to ship around the 15th to the 20th of April. The manuscript for David Long’s book is complete and awaiting the designer’s touch. As soon as Cameron’s book is out the door we will immediately begin on David’s. I anticipate David’s book to be to the printer on June 1st and ready for shipment about the 1st of July. Just in time to get those draw results, get the book read and head into the backcountry after big bucks.
Both books are fantastic and I assure you they are both worth the wait and well worth the money. In fact, to give you an idea of the content of this book here is a copy of Cameron’s preface for you to take a gander at, as well as a few quotes from some leading industry professionals who have already reviewed the manuscript. Enjoy and let me know what you think.
