Guy - My brother-in-law and I are coming to Wyoming on our first Mule Deer hunt ever (first trip ever out west). We have put in for special deer draw for Region H, and we plan to hunt the southern Wind River Mountains on the Bridger Teton Forest. We will be hunting on opening day (September 15th) if we draw tags. What do you think our chances of seeing deer are in that area, and should we go somewhere else on public land in Region H for chance to bag a monster mulie?

usually shy away from hunting on opening day because that area gets hit
