New Building

Jun 15 2006

New places, new faces and a muzzleloader deer tag? Yep you read it right! I have finally drawn my Colorado deer tag out on the eastern plains. For those of you who watch the TV show I have been out there quite a little bit over the past few years chasing those big bucks around with bow in hand. I have yet to score on one of those brutes, but this year will be my big chance to finally get out there with a firearm and see what happens. As some of you may have heard, I have had pretty good luck in the past on muzzleloader mule deer hunts and with any luck maybe that will hold for just one more year.

We have finally moved into our new building and the office is up and running full steam. After the fire we had last fall we made a commitment to move into a new office building and from that a plan was hatched to build a new building to house the Eastman Company. Well just like a baby, nine months later here we are with our very own brick and mortar baby, complete with log trim and some wonderful taxidermy to boot. This past Friday Ike and I moved in all of the heads and hung the pictures. So for those of you who call in, our phone menus and system have changed. I know it is one of those dreaded, push one for this and two for that type of deals but we are confident that this system will help us become much more efficient at what we do and that is produce the best trophy hunting magazine in the West and ship out important orders to customers.

To go along with our new office and phone system we have a new face here in the office. We are happy to announce that Doug Scott has joined our team as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Doug joins the team with a very distinguished list of accomplishments and I am sure his hard work and dedication to Eastmans’ will further to improve our product and brand in the marketplace.

The crew and I have been hard at work on David Long’s mule deer book, Public Land Mulies, The Bottom Line. I am sure you are all going to be very excited about this book when you see it in a month or so. Speaking of which, I had better get back at it so we don’t miss our deadline.
