Tips and Tactics: Planning a Dall's Sheep Hunt
Wed, Jul 01 2009The white specks were unmistakable, even at a distance of over two miles. Tucked in on a small grassy bench, high upon the small range of jagged peaks, the rams appeared to be bedded for the morning. Setting up the spotting scope, the rams revealed themselves as mostly immature, sub-legal rams. There was one ram in the center of this group of five that was the kind of ram that sheep hunters often daydream of. Long spiraling horns, beyond full curl and coming four inches above the bridge of his muzzle, this dark horned ram had "the look."
