Every mule deer hunter dreams of one day taking a buck that breaks the 200 inch mark, but no one expects it to happen with a bow. The same way I never expected it to happen on the last day of Arizona’s 2016 OTC archery season. In Arizona we are lucky enough to get to hunt mule deer in select units during most of December and all of January. As some may know, down here south of the Grand Canyon our deer don’t rut until the end of December and into January, putting this archery season smack dab in the middle of the rut. Late Is Great
At 40 yards I had to slip down off a three-foot ledge and some how it worked and I was now 30 yards away. I picked my next path and was now at 20 yards from the giant. Surprisingly, I stayed very calm (not sure how) as I contemplated my next move.
