This hunt started out differently than the past three. Due to some logistics that were out of my control, we would be hunting a different section of the unit. I am grateful that my good friend, Jed Stevenson was able to clear his calendar, and would be joining me for a week of hunting in the high country of Colorado. We had never set foot in this part of the unit. For the past three months we had been pouring over Google Earth trying to determine the best spot for our base camp, and dreaming of the basins we would call home for the next seven days. Late Is Great
At 40 yards I had to slip down off a three-foot ledge and some how it worked and I was now 30 yards away. I picked my next path and was now at 20 yards from the giant. Surprisingly, I stayed very calm (not sure how) as I contemplated my next move.
