In Part 1, which ran in Eastmans’ Hunting Journal, I wrote about why we hunt. We have good, reasons for hunting. Time outdoors away from it all is good for the soul, it puts us in wild places with the animals we love, challenges us, gets us in better shape, makes us better citizens and benefits our families as well. Then there’s the healthy meat with 50% of the calories, 80% less fat and 100% fewer antibiotics, growth hormones and who knows what. Now, let’s take a look at the good hunters do for our economy and the wildlife itself.
